Hi, my name is Nicolas Mejia. Nicolas, without the 'h.'

75% of the people think my accent is Italian, 10% think it's French and the rest think it's just nice.

I'm a global creative director/writer, bike commuter, weekend drummer, street art and sneaker collector. I’m originally from Bogotá, Colombia.

My journey in advertising began back in 2000 when I started my own digital shop back when nobody really knew what digital was all about. I’ve worked at Lowe/SSP3, BBDO both Colombia and Chicago, Leo Burnett, also both Colombia and Chicago, Saatchi & Saatchi LA, Ogilvy & Mather USA and Amazon in Seattle.

With over fifteen years of experience, I have specialized in concept development and integrated solutions for Fortune 500 brands, including SCJ, Toyota, P&G, Allstate, Directv, GM, Sony, Renault, Anheuser-Busch InBev and McDonald's.

My work has been featured in The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Adweek, Creativity, AdAge, FWA, Archive Magazine and Communication Arts, and has also been recognized by almost every major advertising award show including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Clio Awards, One Show,London International Festival, Shark Awards, New York Festival, Effies, Fiap, El Ojo de Iberoamerica, El Sol, Wave Festival, USH and The Addys among others.

I’m a storyteller. I know how to connect with people because I’ve been doing it successfully for years. Beyond traditional media, my work effectively spans all new and innovative marketing platforms. I have a passion for strong visual language and innovation-driven creativity when it comes to any new assignment.

At Ogilvy, I was a Global Creative Director on Worldwide Brands such as Kiwi Quality Shoe Care and Mr. Muscle. I also co-lead the City of Chicago account working directly with Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

Currently at Amazon, I’m a global creative lead for Amazon Music and Fire TV.

During my free time I split myself doing an Executive MBA on Creative Leadership with the Berlin School and being a good husband taking my wife’s yoga classes.
